Romance Series 1417

It was raining so hard, Aldo drove his car at full speed. He didn't seem to care about the traffic. All Aldo wanted was to get to the hospital as soon as possible.

His heart was uneasy as he imagined Sofia's face. He reassured himself that his wife was fine.

Aldo immediately ran down the hospital corridor. He had nothing else to think about but Sofia. He almost bumped into several nurses or strollers carrying patients because he was so panicked about his wife's condition.

Aldo stopped for a moment when he saw a curly-haired figure hugging a woman in front of the emergency room. He had to catch his breath so as not to look anxious in front of her. To his daughter, Nata, Aldo was a figure she was always proud of.

"Ayaahhh!" Nata shouted and ran to Aldo when he had completely stabilized his condition.

"Daddy, mom, daddy, ayaahh, huhuhu!" Nata wasn't just screaming, the little girl was crying in her father's arms.

"Calm down, Nata, mom's okay. She'll be fine," Aldo tried to manage his sad intonation. He didn't even know what was going on with his wife.

"Mr. Aldo, I'm sorry, I told one of the nurses to call you," a woman's voice approached Aldo and he quickly pulled his head away. Aldo knew the woman. She was his son's homeroom teacher.

"Thank you very much Ms. Nita. What exactly happened, ma'am? Why was my wife taken to the hospital?"

Aldo stared steadily and uncertainly. Waiting for an answer was like waiting for rain in a hot sun.

"I didn't expect it, sir, it's really not like usual. I was shocked, Ms. Sofia suddenly seemed to be short of breath. I've never seen her like this afternoon, sir," Ms. Nita explained the chronology of what happened to Aldo's wife this afternoon.

Aldo was really confused, as he was sure that his wife had no history of illness or anything. But, the incident this afternoon that was never known to be his negligence.

"Yes, A-dad, mom is like that Dad. She suddenly had a shortness of breath, and Nata never saw her like that. Mother is okay, right, Father?" Nata still had tears in her eyes.

She looked shocked. For a child his age, he had never seen his mother like that. This was the first time Nata had seen her mother like that. The doctor came out with a look on his face that Aldo couldn't describe.

"Has the patient's guardian or family arrived?" the doctor said in a voice that made Aldo's heart pound. More than he felt the throbbing of romance.

"Me, her husband, Doc, how is my wife?" Aldo really looked at the doctor's face intently.

"Once I apologize, may your family be given fortitude...," The doctor paused and without hearing any explanation from the doctor Aldo immediately barged into the emergency room.

Aldo froze as he entered the room. He saw someone lying covered with a white cloth. He tried to venture closer, even though his body was shaking and his mind was about to go crazy.

Aldo's hands were shaking as he opened the white cloth. He really didn't expect that the person under the white cloth was his wife, Sofia.

"Aaagghh, no no way. Sofia, Sofia, come on wake up. What really happened baby, come on wake up," Aldo could no longer stem his tears. He screamed and roared loudly. There was nothing different about his wife, Aldo was sure she was fine.

"Honey, Sofia, let's wake up, please don't joke dear. Please wake up, Sofiaaaa, aaagghh no Sofia wake up baby, banguuunnn!" Aldo had completely lost his sanity, he really didn't know what was going on with his wife.

His wife never showed any symptoms of illness or complained. All this time, Aldo believed Sofia was healthy. However, what happened this time really surprised Aldo.

He was abandoned by his wife without any explanation for good. Sofia, gone forever from Aldo's side and life.

"Bunda, Bundaaa, huhuhu, Bundaaa, wake up bundaaaaa," Nata who asked to be led in by her homeroom teacher was also unable to stem her tears. She really didn't expect to be abandoned by her mother.

Nata still made a promise with Sofia that after school Sofia would take her to the mall. Nata wanted to buy a teddy bear. But, the little girl did not expect to be left forever suddenly by her mother.

"I'm sorry, are you, Mr. Aldo?" another doctor approached Aldo and he seemed to have something to say.

"Actually, for the past few years, Sofia's mother has been undergoing outpatient treatment and chemotherapy for her leukemia. Mrs. Sofia asked me to keep everything a secret. She doesn't want Mr. Aldo to think and worry about her condition," the doctor explained. Aldo only nodded when she asked.

"These past few years? Ma-meaning? My wife has been ill, Doc?" Aldo really couldn't say anything. Sofia was so good at keeping her illness at bay. She even kept smiling and acting normal when dealing with him.

"That's right Mr. Aldo, end-stage leukemia. It's something Sofia's mother should have told the family, but she really didn't want to see you worried or sad. And here is Mrs. Sofia's diary that she always carries with her when she does chemotherapy. She told me all about her treatment in that book."

Aldo's hand shook again as he received Sofia's diary. His wife always didn't complain about anything. Always looking beautiful and accompanying Aldo. Always makes Aldo happy, even when Aldo is in his most difficult time. When Aldo still couldn't forget Nisa.

Sofia is always patient and loyal to accompany Aldo. Especially at the beginning of their marriage, Aldo still couldn't fully accept Sofia. Every night, in Aldo's sleep, he always calls Nisa's name.

Nisa's departure was not an easy thing for Aldo to go through. He also felt the loss of Nisa. So, it wasn't just Leon. Because, in the past, Aldo also felt that he had not had time to realize his dreams together with Nisa.

Aldo, who at that time could not accept the fact that Nisa had actually forgotten him and had chosen Leon as Nisa's only lover.

"I'm sorry, baby, huhuhu. Please forgive me, I'm not a good husband for you. I'm sorry, baby, Sofiaaaa, huhuhu," Aldo could only cry while hugging his wife's diary.

He did not expect that Sofia loved him so much. Sofia is willing to sacrifice anything for the happiness of Aldo, her husband.

"Leon."

"Mmm."

"Don't you want to call Aldo?" said Nisa who was now in Leon's relaxed embrace. Leon pulled Nisa to sit on the furry carpet while watching a television channel.

"Don't start again. I just got rid of Raka from your life, now I've got Aldo as my biggest rival," Leon snorted as he set his jaw.

"It's not that, Leon, but I feel like something is going on with Sofia. Aldo's not usually like that," Nisa could sense Aldo's concern just by the look in his eyes.

"Don't worry too much, she'll contact me later, so you don't have to think too much. It's your job now, this brain of yours." Leon said as he rubbed Nisa's forehead, "you have to calm down, relax, don't think about anything hard or strange so that you can recover quickly. I want the old you, Aznii. I miss the old you," Leon said with a desire that could no longer be contained. He really wanted Nisa's memory to come back soon.
