Serenity's P.O.V

We haven't spoken much since we got back from school.

I explained to him what I saw, what I had heard and that I wanted to help.

Only after I told him that he freaked out and I haven't seen him since.

I never even got the chance to tell him that I've been feeling weird today, I keep coming over all hot.

I also don't want to leave his side like ever and I keep getting a sharp pain go through my stomach and lower half.

I walk into the kitchen in shorts and a vest top, I'm honestly so hot I'm trying everything I can to cool down. Yet I can't.

Nothing is working.

I opened the fridge and pulled out some pure orange, it was so cold and felt so good.

Suddenly I heard some growls and when I turned around, there was about 5 pack men standing at the door.

"Can I help you?" My voice waved slightly before I cleared my throat and tried to stand tall.

The way their eyes rank up and down my body made me feel incredibly uncomfortable.

The only one I want looking at me like that is my mate.

My Ryder.

"I can think of a number of ways you can help us princess" one of them smirked and stepped forward causing me to step back.

"That is Luna to you and you will do well to remember that" I snapped as I tried to walk past them.

However my journey was cut short when I was grabbed by two of the men and they pinned me against the wall.

"Mia was right, we could smell you from around the whole house. But when Mia came and told us who it was and where to find you. Well me and my boys couldn't resist, we had to feel you" one of them growled.

"G-get off of me!" I began to panic.

"Don't worry princess we will go easy on you. At first anyway"

"Say one more word and I will fucking kill you" a voice suddenly growled out.

I knew that voice anywhere.

Fire seemed to sweep my body and all the men turned their heads back at me and growled.

Suddenly their bodies were thrown across the room and my sexy, god looking mate stood in front of me.

He realised the biggest warning growl that I've ever heard, it caused the house to rumble.

"Baby take a deep breath and calm down okay" he peeked back at me and I nodded slowly.

"Come on alpha, share you piece of meat. We all was promised a go on the runt" one of the men said.

Within seconds Ryder began shaking and before I knew it he was throwing them around the kitchen and punching them.

"THAT IS YOUR FUCKING LUNA YIU ARE TALKING ABOUT MUTTS!!" He shouts, they all coward down.

"SUBMIT!" He screamed, he was shaking so bad.

God I have never seen him so mad, let alone mad for me.

Or was he mad at me.

He turned his head a little towards me frowning before snapping his head black to look at the men on the floor.

They all turned their heads to the side, they had submitted.

Damn my mate had so much power and it was so bloody sexy.

"Now who the fuck promised you MY mate!" He demanded.

"Mia" all the men answered at once, with one last growl Ryder turned to storm away.

"P-please don't leave me h-here" I whimpered, scared that they may touch me again.

He looked over at me and his features softened, he walked over to me and slowly cupped my face.

Whipping away tears I didn't know had fell with his thumb.

"I'm sorry my queen, don't cry. I would never leave you here with them" he lifted me into his arms and close to his chest.

"Come on my princess, let's get you sorted out" his voice was so soft I didn't even know he possessed such a tone.

He finally walked us to our room and gently sat me down on the bed, he was silent as he began to walk around the room.

"Are you angry at me?" I mumbled to him, scared that I had angered him in some way.

"No princess, of course not-" he moved towards me after going in his draws and sat next to me.

"-I'm angry at them and beyond angry at Mia, tell me why I shouldn't fucking kill that bitch" he growled and his hands shook.

I placed my hands over his causing him to look at me "because I want you with me"

His eyes became even more softer if that was even possible.

"Arms up beautiful" he whispered, I raised my arms and he slowly pulled off my top before placing one of his in its place.

I stood up and took off my shorts, now I'm just in his oversized top; which strangely caused the heat within my body to cool down.

He laid down next to me and pulled me to his chest.

"I did not let them touch me ry, I tried hard to fight"

"Hush now baby girl, this was not your fault" he mumbled as he ran his fingers through my hair.

"Tell me about Sarah" I spoke after a moment of silence, which was then followed with more silence.

Maybe I said something wrong?

"Me, Jacob and her were like the three musketeers. We did everything together and she was our best friend-" he began after a moment which caused shock to run through me.

"The day she was taken was the most beautiful summers day we ever had, we was playing tag through the woods. It felt the most freeing I've ever felt, that was until an unfamiliar scent came into the territory.

Me and Jacob panicked as Sarah hadn't returned yet, we searched quickly. From one side of the territory to the other, I couldn't stop seren...I needed to find my baby sister.

I searched over and over again, I never found her. All that I found when I was ready to give up was a scratch mark on a tree, a bit of blood on the floor and a letter on the tree.

The only thing that was on it was 'you took my happiness and I will continue to take yours until the day we die' I've been searching ever since" he said.

I wrapped my arms around his waist tightly, thinking the story was over but to my surprise he carried on.

"I've been so scared to get close to people, I even distanced myself from my own brother. Then I found you and I panicked even more, I tried to push you away but at the same time I wanted you close to me; I couldn't lose you like I lost my sister, then Mel followed close behind. Two similar women that hold my heart, you as my mate and her as a daughter.

When you told me yesterday that she contacted you I was filled with such hope. Then you told me you will do everything you can to get her back I panicked again. I can't lose you Serenity, you've awoken so much in me; I can't lose someone else I love"

His words shocked me as I turned my head to look at him.

"I love you serenity, I love you so much it hurts to be away from you" he told me, looking me dead in the eye.

I smiled "I love you as well" I said before kissing him on the lips.

I laid my head back on his chest, listening to his heart beat.

It was so soothing.

So beautiful.

So...alive.

"Thank you for telling me about Sarah" I mumbled, suddenly feeling tired.

"I can't keep anything from you, my stubborn mate" his words made me giggle.

"What's wrong with me ryry? Why did the pack men act such a way towards me?" I mumbled.

He kissed the top of my head and continued to run this fingers through my hair.

God never stop!

"Because my beautiful little mate, you are in heat. It's okay thought because I'm here. I will always be here"

Those were the last words I heard before I feel into the most peaceful sleep I've ever had.

In the arms of my mate who I love with everything in me.

A/N

So I've completely rewrote this chapter.

I've taken away the cage thing that the young me thought was 'good' and turned this chapter into something a little sweeter.

Obviously, Ryder is not your typical man. He is still finding it hard connecting with her sometimes.

He finds it hard to show affection and has fears that you will soon uncover.

I believe I haven't covered all of this before so I plan to.

However, should you feel that I'm starting to drift please remind me; you are my readers after all.

So I've started deleting some of the comments that involve the correction of my spelling or confusion, so that people don't look at past comments and wonder what is going on.

Anyways I wanted to show a very different side to Ryder, I wanted you guys to see him Vulnerable so you know that he has feelings to.

You've seen him as his guarded self, where he is little but of a twat.

You've seen him begin to act like a mate.

Seen him start to connect with serenity and let go of the people he no longer needs.

Now you've seen them in a way you've never seen them before.

And personally I LOVE this version more then the old one.
